At Birdsong this Friday - CR Avery!

Hello Lovelies!

Just a reminder that we are stoked to welcome C.R. Avery back to the island (and our home) for a rare solo performance with some special guests. Please RSVP to us at [email protected] if you plan to come this Friday, July 3rd!

Poet, songwriter, harmonica virtuoso, storyteller, and one-man whirlwind, Avery has spent decades carving out a singular place in Canadian music and spoken word. His work draws from folk, blues, hip-hop, jazz, beat poetry, and vaudeville without ever settling comfortably into any one genre.

Critics have called him "impossible to pigeon hole," while others have described his performances as "audacious and astounding" and "the ultimate rock and roll show." Tom Waits simply said that C.R. was "blowin' my mind."

Whether he's delivering razor-sharp poetry, unleashing astonishing harmonica work, or weaving songs and stories into something entirely his own, a C.R. Avery performance is less a concert than an encounter with a restless and fiercely original creative force.

In the great poet Shane Koyczan’s words: “C.R. Avery is a creative avalanche. There's little to no warning when it comes to his performances, and to be in the audience watching it happen one has to remember to breathe through it all. A keen collaborator who is always pushing his art past the edge to see who will catch it. I'm always looking forward to his next project."

This will be an outdoor show. Bring a lawn chair if you've got one, and settle in for an unforgettable evening of music, words, and surprises under the summer sky.

We are only hosting a handful of concerts this summer - don’t miss out!

Friday, July 3
Doors: 6:30 PM | Show: 7:00 PM

Suggested donation (cash at the door): $25
Address provided upon RSVP to [email protected]

Cheers,

Megan & Brian @Birdsong
