London Design Festival
After a barrage of setbacks (although I was reminded by some that a key falling off a laptop is fairly minor in the grand scheme of things) things are looking up and I have some exciting news to share.
The stool I made in collaboration with mealworms has been selected for exhibition at the London Design Festival. This LDF week has been filled with inspiring events and showcases, and I'm immensely proud to be part of it. If you plan to visit the exhibition in person, you can find me at Ingate Works in the Battersea Design District until this Sunday. Feel free to drop me a message here if you intend to visit—I'd love to say hello! I also highly recommend checking out other exhibitions, such as the Material Matters showcase, which features projects from Innovation Design Engineering.
Additionally, my project, Hygromech, which explores wood warping in response to moisture, was nominated for inclusion in the Olymp'Arts exhibition. I'm thrilled to announce that its participation has been confirmed for an online exhibition.
The eagerly awaited mealworm shed, while experiencing a slight delay, is scheduled to arrive next week. Get ready for some DIY content as we work on making it structurally sound in our garden. This is incredibly exciting because it marks the beginning of co-designing new structures with a fish tank filled with polystyrene and mealworms. Yum.
Lastly, although slightly separate from the realm of biocrafting, but still connected to my design practice, my master's group project, Pleural, has received the James Dyson Award and the Helen Hamlyn Award for creativity. It's been a whirlwind experience with the Dyson PR team, including radio interviews and studio filming, and it culminated in an invitation to discuss the project on Sky News. It's all been quite surreal!
Until next time.

Also, I graduated!
