Proximie Raises $38M in Series B Funding
Proximie, a London, UK-based health technology platform company focused on digitising operating and diagnostic rooms, closed a $38m Series B equity financing.
The round was led by F-Prime Capital, with participation from new investors Questa Capital, Eight Roads, Maverick Ventures, and existing investors Global Ventures, BECO Capital and Cedar Mundi Ventures.
The company intends to use the funds to expand in the U.S. and European markets growing its commercial efforts, making new technology implementations, and conduct research and development activities.

Rinri Therapeutics Raises £10M in Funding
Rinri Therapeutics, a Sheffield, England, UK-based biotechnology company developing a novel stem cell therapy to restore hearing, raised a total of £10m in funding.
Backers included existing investors Boehringer Ingelheim Venture Fund (BIVF), UCB Ventures and BioCity alongside the UK Government Future Fund.
The proceeds will support the development of the company’s novel stem cell therapy to reverse sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL).
Led by Dr Simon Chandler, CEO, Rinri Therapeutics is a private biotechnology company developing advanced stem cell-based therapeutics to restore hearing. The company’s technology seeks to reverse sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL) through the repair of the damaged cytoarchitecture in the inner ear. There are currently no pharmacological treatment options for SNHL patients.

Cquestr8 Raises $300K in Seed Funding
Cquestr8, a London, UK-based carbon sequestration solution provider, raised $800k in funding.
The round was led by Counteract.
The company intends to use the funds for proof of concept development, ahead of customer engagement in 2022.
Co-founded by Steve Willis and Jerry Joynson in 2020, Cquestr8 is a non-profit research group seeking billion-tonne-scale carbon dioxide removal (CDR) technologies. The first commercial project to graduate from Herculean Climate Solutions, the company has developed carbon sequestration solutions, leveraging natural processes to safely lock away CO2 as stable ocean bicarbonate.

The round was led by Menlo Ventures with participation from Y Combinator, General Catalyst, Refactor Capital, and the founders of Flatiron Health, Warby Parker, Harry’s, Allbirds, PillPack, Carbon Health, and Lambda School.
The company intends to use the funds to continue to build and expand its services to patients across the U.S., to soon accept insurance, including Medicare and Medicaid.

The company intends to use the funds to accelerate its research and development into mRNA vaccine and drug discovery focused on infectious disease, cancer, and rare diseases.

Halodoc, an Indonesian healthtech platform, raised US$ 80 million Series C financing.
The round was led by PT Astra Digital Internasional, a subsidiary of PT Astra International Tbk, with participation from Temasek, Telkomsel’s TMI, Acrew Diversify Capital Fund, Bangkok Bank, UOB Venture Management, Singtel Innov8, BliBli, Allianz X, Novo Holdings, and Openspace Ventures.

Conceived in 2016, built in 2019, and launched to the public in early 2020, TIBU is an on-demand platform that connects people to healthcare workers in real-time, who deploy to a location and time of the patient’s choosing.
The startup has served over 10,000 patients since its launch, rolled out a comprehensive home-based vaccination service alongside Amref Health Africa, launched health packages focused on chronic diseases, and secured a variety of key partnerships, and it has now taken on a seed funding round to help it grow further.
