The Decision Before the Decision

Before we decide what to do, something has already happened. We’ve interpreted what we see.
A short email feels dismissive. A customer says no and we decide the idea isn’t working. AI gives us an unexpected answer and we conclude the technology can’t be trusted. The interpretation happens so quickly that we rarely experience it as interpretation. We experience it as reality.
And from there, everything else follows: the judgment, the conversation, the decision, the strategy, even what we ask AI to do.
Where my work has taken me is the moment just before all of that.
When we can see the interpretation taking shape, it no longer has to determine what happens next. Another choice becomes possible. And with another choice, a different outcome becomes possible.
I wrote The Perception Miracle about this almost invisible moment: what changes when we learn to see what is shaping the seeing?

The Perception Space grew from the same question. It isn’t another place to learn what to think. It’s a place to notice what may already be shaping thought before thought tells us what is true.
There are experiments, doorways, gatherings, practices, and the book itself. You begin wherever something catches your attention.
If you’d like to experience the space together, reply to this email. Twenty minutes is plenty to begin.
