True-crime re-casting agency
the true crime that's worth your time
There’s absolutely zero chance I’ll watch the second season of Bloodline Detectives. The premise isn’t unappealing — the show, per a recent PR email, goes “behind the scenes of cold cases as detectives solve years-old murder investigations using two kinds of technology: genetic genealogy and familial searching.” Yeah, animated Googling is hard to make into compelling TV (just ask Catfish), but not impossible, and I like that process-y stuff, which was the best part of I’ll Be Gone In The Dark. But it’s hosted by Nancy Grace, so: no way, no day.
But if, say, W. Kamau Bell hosted it? Or Jerry Buting? Or a Mythbuster? I’m listening. And pretty much everything about Megyn Kelly’s Zodiac episode is wrong — “Hot Crime Summer week”? Lady, that shit is a deep frown — but put Hilarie Burton and her co-hosts on it and I will give it a shot.
