The True-Crime Audiobook Narrator Hall Of Fame
the true crime that's worth your time
We can do a Hall Of Shame some other time — I didn’t want to go negative on two threads in a row — but I’d love to hear about books in the genre whose audio “stylists” you really enjoyed. I’ve made mention of Janet Reitman’s Inside Scientology several times on the podcast, and of narrator Stephen Hoye’s very faint contempt for “LRH” et al.
Honorable mention to Mikal Gilmore’s Shot In The Heart, a book I don’t really care for, but Will Patton’s narration almost changed my mind.
Who’s the best in your opinions — best pairing with the material? whiskiest voice? made the text seem better than it was?
