The Docket 06.20.24 There Is No Ethan
the true crime that's worth your time
At long last, we’re discussing Anna Akbari’s There Is No Ethan: How Three Women Caught America’s Biggest Catfish, which is Akbari’s account of getting catfished; teaming up with two other victims of “Ethan”; and trying to prevent future catfishing by the perpetrator. Is the book “bloggy” — and is that a bad thing? Did it need a more literary vibe, and/or a more accurate subtitle? And despite our compassion for vengeful motives, is it time for everyone involved to move on? If you’ve read it — or you’ve been considering it — talk to us about that in the comments.
