The Devil Next Door · Court Cam

Plus: Slender man realness

the true crime that's worth your time

A new true-crime series from Netflix will delve into the case of an alleged Nazi war criminal who settled in Cleveland. The docuseries is called The Devil Next Door, and it’s about John Demjanjuk, who prosecutors said was a guard at multiple death camps during the Holocaust.

…or was he? While officials said that Demjanjuk was known as "Ivan the Terrible" during his Nazi days, Demjanjuk claimed that this was a case of mistaken identity, and that he wasn’t even old enough to be the much-feared guard. He faced multiple trials in Garmany and elsewhere, and died in 2012, still technically an innocent man. The series will trace the arguments presented by both sides on the case, and will presumably fall on one side or the other. We’ll find out its conclusions when it’s released, on November 4. -- EB
