Plus: Why reporting on arrests is tricky
the true crime that's worth your time
A new podcast seeks to cast light on cold cases in East Tennessee. It’s called Appalachian Unsolved, and it’s apparently an outgrowth of a series by the same name that ran on Knoxville-based NBC affiliate WBIR. Since its launch in late October, it’s covered the unsolved death of a baking socialite, a 1949 shooting that spurred the creation of a statewide police force, and the murder of a popular DJ. You can check it out here. -- EB
