Plus: Some fairly fun casting news
the true crime that's worth your time
The trailer has dropped for Kim Kardashian’s Oxygen doc. We’ve been talking about Kim Kardashian West: The Justice Project for a bit now — it’s the two-hour special West has been working for Oxygen in her (relatively recent) drive to fight the mass incarceration epidemic. Some (cough Sarah cough) were skeptical that the show would actually get made, but here we are: there’s a trailer, press release, and everything.
Per that release, West says that “this documentary is an honest depiction of me learning about the system and helping bring tangible results to justice reform.” Which, sure, there’s always going to be an eye-roll associated with the Kardashian clan, that’s a fate they made for themselves. But — and I say this as a non-fan of West’s prior reality-TV pursuits — if my choice is watching the dubiously notable scion of a famous family make an unseasoned lasagna or attempt to, as West says she is, help “millions of people impacted by this broken justice system,” I’m going to pick the latter. — EB
