Plus: Is true crime too downmarket for Joe Berlinger?
the true crime that's worth your time
Killer Motive, a true crime show from the producers of Dateline, will debut on Oxygen this fall. NBC News correspondent Stephanie Gosk (that her above, on the left) and 48 Hours Mystery journo Troy Roberts will host the show, divvying up the eight episodes so they each appear in four.
According to a press release to announce the series, the show “will uncover dark and twisted motives, from vengeance to jealousy to greed that led to gruesome killings.” Hence the name, I guess. Based on the release, Gosk and Roberts will do more than provide narration and bumps to and from commercials, as it’s said that they will “conduct on-the-ground inquiries, returning to the crime scenes and sitting down with victims’ friends and family, law enforcement, attorneys, psychologists — even the killers themselves — to uncover the story of how justice was sought and ultimately attained.” It premieres on August 25 at 7 PM. -- EB
