Talking Pictures: Errol Morris (March 5, 2024)

I'd had the Morris ep of the Talking Pictures pod – a joint project from Turner Classic Movies and HBO Max – on my list for a while because, as TP host Ben Mankiewicz notes, The Thin Blue Line "stands as [Morris's] signature work." Morris is also working on an Ed Gein project, although it's hard to discern its outlines, either from the IMDb or from this interview – although I did learn that, as a college student, Morris talked his way into the Wisconsin psychiatric hospital where Gein was confined. (And that he had a "friend date" with Werner Herzog to literally look into the gravesite of Gein's mother, Augusta, to which he did not show up, although Herzog evidently did.)
