Don’t worry, John Mulaney’s name isn’t in your subject line because he’s a suspect. I don’t know about you, but one of the ways I have been calming my brain down at night is by watching comedy bits from funny people who are edgy-ish but still feel kind. That means a lot of YouTube searches for Kumail Nanjiani, Tiffany Haddish, and Mulaney — which, as I write this, also sounds like the cast I’d propose were someone to mount an unnecessary reboot of Three’s Company.
That’s how I stumbled across this nearly three-year-old video of Mulaney talking about his then-ambassadorship with The Innocence Project, a relationship that he says began after his wife and he attended a screening of West Of Memphis. (Finally, a YouTube algorithm recommendation that wasn’t horrifying!) It’s a nice little video, and it only made me like him more. — EB
Linda Tripp has died. Tripp, who as you likely recall will be played by Sarah Paulson in the upcoming true crime series American Crime Story: Impeachment, was 70 years old; her cause of death was pancreatic cancer. Earlier today, as rumors that Tripp was seriously ill began to circulate, Monica Lewinsky (Beanie Feldstein in the ACS take) tweeted the following:
