The Crime:
Erin Patterson prepared a lunch of beef Wellington for her estranged husband’s relatives, including his parents, at her house in the small Australian town of Leongatha in 2023. Don and Gail Patterson, Erin’s in-laws, and Heather Wilkinson, Gail’s sister, died shortly after the lunch, while Heather’s husband Ian and Erin both survived. Officials say Erin deliberately poisoned the group, using Death Cap mushrooms.
