Dark Side of the Ring's latest is a crushing combo of drugs and delusion
the true crime that's worth your time

If you've never heard of Dark Side of the Ring, you're not alone. The docuseries is from Vice Studios Canada, the northern arm of the once-important, now essentially shuttered news and entertainment outlet. I'd assumed that the show, which has been around since 2019, had died along with most of the company, but I was wrong — season six of the behind-the-scenes series about the pro wrestling game dropped in late March. The latest episode, Tuesday's "Truth, Lies and Billy Jack Haynes," creates one of the show's best arguments for an audience beyond wrestling buffs, a legit true crime yarn that includes a confounding interview with a man who's been quite credibly accused of killing his elderly wife.
