American Crime Story: The '90s
the true crime that's worth your time
Impeachment: American Crime Story bows next Tuesday. In contemplating this third installment, I realized that one of the franchise’s gifts is its focus on nineties cases — that we have exactly the right amount of distance from OJ and Cunanan and Clinton’s impeachment now to understand what was really happening, and what else was really happening, in a way we couldn’t when there were new headlines every day.
So, while I’m not against the idea of Lindbergh: American Crime Story or anything, I wonder if ACS shouldn’t stick to cases out of the 1990s only — and, if that’s its brief, which case/s it should take on next. I know Eve has a ton of ideas on this; I for one NEED them to tackle the murder of JonBenét Ramsey. I also wouldn’t mind seeing ACS: Menendez, and if Falco gets another whack at Leslie Abramson as a result, I wouldn’t mind that either. What’s YOUR next ACS: Nineties? — SDB
