Join me, panelists Belo Miguel Cipriani, Ed.D., Nicole Thomas, and Bryan Thao Worra for a panel, With Us: Artists with Disabilities on Adapting Technology for Us. This is a continuation of a series of programming for (and by) disabled artists on a variety of topics. Past topics include Artists with Disabilities on Empowerment, Artists with Disabilities on Joy, and Artists with Disabilities on Caring for Ourselves and Our Community. All are welcome to attend this free event. Registration in the link.
I'm a member of the Twin Cities Collage Collective, which has a few opportunities to get involved coming up.
Through this project, we will provide a variety of unique vintage and contemporary paper-based collage material at no cost to the recipient to support their creative exploration. Receiving a mix of material can kickstart creativity and lead to fascinating breakthroughs! Black, brown, mixed race and indigenous folks are encouraged to apply, as are members of the LGBTQIA2S+ community. For application details see our linktree.
For North Star Collage #3, details in linktree as well. Prior zines are now available for purchase at the Minnesota Center for Book Arts (also in Open Book in Minneapolis).
A recent post on both LinkedIn and Instagram focused on giving examples of what being an artist interested in disability and joy looks like.
I've been continuing to check in with folks to brainstorm, to dream. If you're interested in catching up or think there might be something you'd like to do together please reply, and let me know your availability. If you're an artist hoping to have a consultation about the business-side of your practice please reach out via Springboard for the Arts.
More soon, I do have a few upcoming things not yet formally public that I'm excited to be sharing. I'll type to you next week.
In appreciation,
Alison
