This is a great chance to see more of my work, both original collage, zines, and prints. I will be holding these more often, often on a casual pop up basis. If you miss this one, there will be others. Also, if you're unable to make the pop up please check out my online store.
I now have a newsletter on Substack called Selfitudes. This is a space for explorations of photography, culture, and identity in broad strokes through the personal, the news, and monuments of art history. Please check it out. I also will be reading from parts of it at the pop up tomorrow.
My friend Annette and I are creating conversations about stigmatized topics. We just recorded our first episode and it is beautiful. It's not live quite yet, but will be very soon, and the link above will lead you there.
New stories about the Craigslist personals are coming soon to my Patreon. I will also be doing some refiguring to support tiers for this project. One of the most exciting parts of these new stories, is that they will (at least in part) be publicly available and not just hidden behind a paywall. The most powerful part of this project to me has always been the conversations it sparks, so more of that soon!
For this festival highlighting 12 different community with 12 different artist liaisons I worked with other members of the disability community to make a brief theater piece.
There is a reception September 10, 1 -4 pm with Art activities, tours led by the curator, the jurors and the artists and light refreshments. I'm so proud to be part of jury for this exhibition and very excited for it to be up until April 3, 2024.
With the rest of the Springboard for the Arts workshop facilitation team, I'll be teaching lots of Work of Art classes this fall. There are online and in-person options coming up.
Do you have questions about how best to move your practice forward? Thoughts about a project but aren't certain about all aspects? Do you want some encouragement? Do you know someone these questions apply to? If so, you, (or they) might want to book a consultation with me or one of my colleagues on the Artist Career Consultant Roster at Springboard for the Arts. Please take a look through the roster if this is something that interests you.
Thanks for being interested in my work, and I look forward to sharing more of it soon!
Warmly,
Alison
