Too much effort for a cursor
Hello!! This week, I spent way too much working on a cursor.
It’s for a client, who’s building a site out for their client. I’m just doing a few small parts, including this cool cursor effect:
You won’t believe how much work it took to shoe-horn this into the site.
The colorful text is actually just placed on top of the real (black/white) text, and then cropped to be the same circular shape as the cursor. It’s not “in” the cursor; it just moves on top of the cursor and is cropped to the same shape.
But! It’s done, and I’m happy with the result.
Something else I worked on this week were two new parts of War Room: Due and Completed. They show you tasks that have due dates, and tasks you’ve checked off in the past week. Here’s a quick demo:
In reality, this was a move to set up a new feature called Plan, which I’ve been wanting to implement in War Room for a while. I sent out a document with designs for Plan a while ago in a newsletter, but here’s the doc again if you’re curious.
I’m envisioning that Plan would be a tab between “Tasks” and “Due”, so this week’s features make space for it.
That’s all for this week! I hope you have a great week.
