Building Oatmeal.page
Hello friends!
Two-ish weeks ago, I had this idea for a tool called Oatmeal — an app for turning a Notion database into a lightweight blog site. I naturally bought the domain (oatmeal.page) first and then tweeted some progress.
(Why Oatmeal? Because it reminds me of off-white colors, and Notion’s branding also reminds me of that. It’s something, ok?)
I am still working on Oatmeal! It turns out that working (I’m an intern at Locket this summer) means not doing as much of side projects, but the internship is fun and I shall ship this side project soon, hopefully.
If blogging from Notion does sound useful though, do drop your email address into the homepage for Oatmeal so I can experience some sweet sweet dopamine.
I also published a blog post about that Ben Forms site I built a month ago — I thought better late than never, and why not document a bit of the project.
Plus, it’s another post on ben.page, which proves to me that redoing my blog was definitely a good idea and that I will write blog posts regularly again. (Doing daily blog posts again like I did in 2022 is a very attractive idea but my girlfriend Trisha says no because it made me stressed.)
But! I am enjoying writing on ben.page and I do like the little AI-generated images I’ve been attaching to blog posts (they’re not the best thing ever, but it’s something to spice up the wall of text).
That’s all! Happy WWDC day!
Ben
