A tour of the new Beginner's Apprenticeship website

Hey friends!

Beginner’s Apprenticeship has a new home online and I’m excited to share it with you!

When we started Beginner's Apprenticeship, it was just a book — a simple way for our family to pray together before bed. Over the years(!), it's grown in beautiful ways: multiple books, companion albums, chord charts, liturgy resources, and a community of families who've made these projects their own. I wanted a website that would be ready for housing new projects with the creativity and craft deserved, so I built a fancy new website.

What You'll Find

The new site brings everything together in one place. Each project — Good Night, God, The King Is Coming, and what's ahead — has its own page where you can explore the book, sample the music, download chord charts, and learn more about how it all fits together. Every book has a companion album that's free to stream, and the site makes it easy to listen before you buy.

You'll also find our ministry partners who've helped carry this project forward — All Saints Dallas, Bridgetown Church, and Practice Collective — along with the story of how Beginner's Apprenticeship came to be.

Liturgy Event Resources

One thing I'm especially glad to share: the liturgy gathering resources are now available through the site. A few years ago, we hosted an evening at our church where we read through one of the books together, put up slides, and had a live band play the songs while the kids followed along. It was such a special night that my friend Paul Demer replicated the event at his own church.

Since then, other churches have done the same, and we've packaged everything you'd need — presentation slides and instrumental tracks — so your church or small group can host one too, whether you have a band or not.

What's Ahead

There are seeds planted for future projects — Prayers of the People, Lent, Sabbath — and I'm looking forward to the time and space to bring those to life. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy some behind the scenes of the new Beginner’s Apprenticeship website.

I’d love to hear what you think. And thank you, as always, for following along with this project. I don't take it for granted.

We'll talk soon.
