Hello lovely strangers,

It’s summer, somehow, and that means exciting things! My latest Monk and Robot novella, A Prayer for the Crown-Shy, is launching next week, and I’m headed off on a small West Coast US tour to celebrate. It’s going to be my first time doing live events in almost three years. I promise I remember how to sign books and put on something other than sweatpants.

As for the tour, it’s going to be a blast, and I’ll be joined by some truly fabulous authors, including Martha Wells, Charlie Jane Anders, and Ryka Aoki. I’m making stops in Seattle, Portland, Napa, San Francisco, San Diego, and Santa Monica, plus a couple virtual events open to folks anywhere in the world. COVID precautions will be in place at all live events. Specific rules vary from venue to venue, but please expect masking and/or proof of vax. Some venues will also be limiting the number of attendees, so make sure to check the details for your desired event carefully.

At locations in which masking is recommended but not required, I’d like to underline that recommendation with a fat red marker, three times over. Not only would I be infinitely more comfortable in front of a fully-masked audience, but I ask that we do everything we can to protect everyone in attendance. Let’s keep each other safe.
