Book Notes this week

Greenlights by Matthew McConaughey

An amazing story told by an expert storyteller. I just had to grab the Audiobook version. Listening to Matthew tell the story was 110% worth it. I read the book while listening.

The War of Art by Steven Pressfield

Good book about what being an artist entails and how to overcome the resistance that you inevitably will meet. The first 2/3 was fine. The last 1/3 was confusing and boring. Don't read that part. It's already a short book, but I feel like it could be much shorter.

Something I'm Testing...

I've been working on my knowledge management system a lot recently.

My

system for saving and organizing content I find on the internet

has been expanded a bit. I want to see if the changes make sense before shouting too much about it.

Here's the thought process behind it.

If I save something that I want to check out at some later date, I want to be prompted to do so.

I don't just want to save and forget. I saved it for a reason.

So what is my solution?

I put a "Read Later Processing" 'widget' on my Notion dashboard. I call it a Knowledge Inbox.

This is what it looks like.

Now I get prompted to 'process' whatever I saved!

Another thing I added to it is spaced repetition.

Perhaps I read an article that was so good that I want to read it again later.

Well, that's possible.

You know those times where you read something, and you feel like it sparked something, but you also know that, if you read it again later, you'll learn more?

It's for those times. Those are the things I want to see again.

So I made that possible.

I'm testing this out for a bit. If it's great, I'll make something of it.

Have any suggestions? Want to try it out, too? Feel free to reply! 😁
