Until I Have Healed You, follows Haera - a traumatized, orphaned werewolf, and her love story with the god who created the universe - Theos. This novel is inspired loosely by Greek Mythology, and carries over some common elements, as well as some foundational ones that I built in based on my faith.
There are a lot of things that I love about this story - so many in fact that I couldn’t even begin to think of them all. But one of the main ones, is that Theos is a softie. For being the creator of the universe, he’s literally made of love. His entire being radiates it, and it’s the most precious, gutwrenching thing I’ve ever experienced.
I modelled him after the actual God who created the universe - shoutout to Jesus, and Theos is truly just so soft it makes my heart kinda ache. I truly adore his relationship with Haera. He is patient, kind, gentle, restrains himself a lot so he doesn’t overwhelm her even though he wants nothing more than to make everything better for her and fix it all at once so she never has to worry. And y’all? Theos says the most dreamy, swoony things. And the spice????? Prepare your fire extinguishers in advance.
Like… When I say he’s soft for her, I truly mean it. I’m a little jealous of her. Imagine being jealous of a character you made up.
Haera has already been through a lot by the time we meet her at the start of the story, and goes through a lot more in the book’s pages. It makes me sad that she had to face all of that, but like Kheos says in his toast to her at the end: May She Never Know Pain Again. You’ll find out who Kheos is soon enough.
Stay tuned to hear more of my musings and ramblings about this novel of mine, and the others I’ve written & am writing. If you’re new to the newsletter, hey! You missed a lot but I’ll catch you up as we go along. Not to worry.
See you next time bestie!
