It should be embarrassing that I keep forgetting to write and schedule emails for Friday each week, but given the circumstances, I’m sure you’ll forgive me.

We’re a little more than two months out til release, and I’m scrambling more and more every day to make sense of all the things I need to do.

Here’s an update of the publishing journey:

• I’ve finally gotten to do my book cover release! This happened this week. (You’ll have seen my newsletter about it earlier this week if you were already signed up for my newsletter before then). It took a huge weight off my shoulder to be able to no longer be keeping that a secret.

• My character art reveal is coming up next on September 9th - which is literally two days from now. I’ll be posting reel + static post on IG, and sharing it via newsletter as well. The character art is so gorgeous and I’m so excited to finally share it!!! And start using the art in reels.

• I’ve been working on preorder incentives, ideas for giveaways and other promo stuff with my PR company. It’s so good to have someone to run my ideas by and get ideas from. So grateful for them.

• My copyeditor loves my story! She’s currently reading it and I’m anxious to get it back soon so that I can do the corrections as well as line edits and then pass it along to my proofreader in time for ARCs and so it gets uploaded to the ‘Zon in time for release.

• I’m also super excited to format the physical copy of my book. There’s gonna be maps (Inkarnate gave me a hell of a time trying to make these), and some custom drawn POV markers so I’m excited. Also nervous because I haven’t used Adobe InDesign since last year and I might need to brush up on my skills a little.

• I’m falling behind on marketing and it’s really discouraging. I feel like I should be pumping out more content than I am, but I’m stuck because my 9-5 is demanding more of my energy currently. Born to be a full time creative, forced to work to survive. I’ll figure it out and bounce back stronger.
