[AustinJS] Coming up on August 19
Next meetup: August 19, 2025
Join us next Tuesday to hear from Kushal Kumar Nerella, who will be talking about Building UIs for Everyone: Accessibility as a Frontend Responsibility:
Kushal will share some of the accessibility work he's been doing as part of Amazon’s homepage team. Over the past year, he's tackled issues like broken carousels, missing focus indicators, and screen reader confusion — all in a high-traffic environment where things can’t just “sort of” work. He'll talk about what he's learned building for accessibility at scale, the tools and techniques he relied on, and why this stuff really matters for every frontend engineer. Whether you’re shipping enterprise UI or just want to make your components more inclusive, this talk will give you practical ideas you can take back to your own codebase.
Meetup Schedule:
6:00 — 6:30 → Food and networking
6:30 — 7:00 → Lightning talks
7:00 — 8:00 → Main presentation and Q&A
8:00 → Walk to Zilker Brewing Company and hang out
Get involved!
