New release: Experiments 1-22
Lately I've been thinking about my process and the tools I use as an electronic musician. It led me to wonder what I might learn from past work and any happy accidents that happened as I was developing my own style.
From 2018 to 2022 I made a series of short tracks that were meant to get me to stop messing around and just record something. There were too many things I wanted to try — sampling, loops, drum patterns, lo-fi emulators, and hardware synthesis. The 22 tracks that resulted are a fun assortment of ideas (some better than others) put down as fast as I could decide what I wanted to do.
Originally these were posted to Soundcloud with minimal editing, which helped me with the process of finishing things but left many tracks a little hard to listen to. So I've taken everything, cleaned it up, fixed some bad EQ choices, and created a new album that I hope will highlight the breadth of my experimentation.
Have a listen and let me know what you think.
