Audiogames.net Monthly Digest - June 2025

Welcome to the June 2025 audiogames.net monthly digest. The month of May initially seemed quiet, with a few releases and updates. That was before the last week of the month when we got a number of major releases. This month, you can read about a new accessibility mod, a new potentially accessible tripple-A racing game, a new RPG from the maker of Port Mondes, a few new mobile games and a number of updates. As always, if you like what you're reading, be sure to spread the word!

New Releases

Starcraft Access BETA (Windows)

Starcraft access is an accessibility mod for the original Starcraft real-time strategy game. It's still early in development, however the core gameplay systems are accessible. If you decide to try it out, keep in mind the following:

  • The mod was designed for the Original Starcraft 1.6 release and *Not* the remaster or freeware release currently available on battle.net
  • The most recent version of the mod can be downloaded from Post 41 in this thread,
  • The mod currently doesn't officially support the single player campaign, however there is a workaround to make it playable described in post 98 here.
  • Please check the forum thread for the most up-to-date situation as it's very likely there will be updates in the future.

More targets will be added after release, - Marijuana Plantation, wehnever you're vip and have 1000 experience for now, this can still be corrected, start a marijuana plantation and plant, take care of, harvest and sell your marijuana. Les contes de Vilgorm (Windows, Mac)

This game is in French. As such, if you'd like to play in English or another language a translation addon for your screen reader will be required.

London, 1932. On a cold and rainy night, a strange occultist performs a yet stranger ritual. Brilliant, powerfull, as arrogant as ambitious, this dark wizzard has dedicated most of his life to find a way to cheat death, or atleast to postpown his rendez-vous with it; and he might just have found his way out. By this ritual, he actually summons Vilgorm, a major demon, prince of stories and tales, to challenge him. Vilgorm will have to tell a story with a happy ending, a true one, no last minut twist, no bittersweet conclusion, the real deal. If he succeedes, he gets to leave the mage's office with his summoner's soul, no questions asked. If he does not, he will have to come back in five years and, in the mean time, the mage himself won't be affected by age; he won't get a day older. Sounds like a simple deal right ? What could possibly go wrong ? The thing is, Vilgorm is a narrator of true things. He tells all the stories that were and will be, that were and were not, but most of all, he does not lie while telling a tale, and things never happen this way, things never end totally and definitely well, there's always a catch. Therefor he'll need to fight against himself, trying to find an opening, a hidden way to conclude his story with a happy ending before he realises it's done. You'll play as Vilgorm and try to forge this tale, in a very classical fairytale univers (with some darker colours let's be honnest), and help him win what might otherwise turn into an eternal confrontation with the mage. Succeede, and you're done, fail and you'll be back in the mage's office in five years to try again. In the mean time, you'll get to find out more about the occultist himself and what he intends to do with all the time you give him : his plans, his schemes and his projects. But that's all background, the real deal now. Les contes de Vilgorm is a pure roglite, with some puzzle elements. Narrating a story is quite easy. Choose a main character, and, from one chapter into another, choose the different events he or she will have to face. Manage your character's stats, inventory, equipment and skills just like you would in a classic rpg. But don't forget to check out Vilgorm's irritation stat, if it gets above 10, the next event will be imposed, and will temporarily make things much harder for your character to calm down the demon's annoyance against this human and boring tale. With three main chapters and characters, many different endings, a global out of game storyline, original music and sound design, and many different strategies, les contes de Vilgorm has countless hours of gameplay to offer. It's really a work we're proud of, and we hope you'll have as much fun playhing as we had creating it.

Chinese Games block

The next few games all come from the Chinese developer community and as such will require a translation addon to play.

Plush Meow House (Windows)

Welcome to Fluffy Meow House! This is a small game where you adopt cats and collect cat fur. At the start of the game, your Meow House has only one room, and you can only adopt one type of cat. After a cat moves into your room, it will automatically start shedding fur. You can also press the SPACEBAR to pet the cat in the room, making it shed more fur. The collected fur can be used to upgrade facilities or the room itself. Once certain conditions are met, you can unlock new rooms! The facilities in each room include: Auto Feeder: Increases cat fur drop per unit time by 20%. Litter Box: Each level reduces the auto-shedding interval by 2 seconds. Cat Tree: Increases the rate of accumulating Affection Level. Affection Level affects the yield from manual petting. Cat Bed: Each level adds 2 extra fur dropped when petting the cat. Oh, remember: The level of a facility cannot exceed the level of the room it's in. Each time you unlock a new room, a new cat breed also becomes available for adoption. Cats requiring more fur for adoption will also have a higher base shedding rate. If you like a newly unlocked cat breed, you can replace the cat in an existing room with the new one. However, every cat starts with an Affection Level of 0 when it first arrives at the Meow House. So when a new cat joins us, remember to give it lots of pets! By the way, I forgot to mention: When you visit the Meow House for the first time each day, you'll notice the cats' Affection Levels reset. This is normal because the cats want fresh pets every day! Alright, here are some keyboard shortcuts: F1: Save (Auto-saves every 100 seconds). Shift + F7: Decrease music volume. Shift + F8: Increase music volume. F7: View Historical Total Collection Leaderboard. F8: View 60-Minute Collection Leaderboard. F9: Load a Mysterious Code from the clipboard. Okay, let me explain what these leaderboards are: The Historical Total Collection Leaderboard ranks your Meow Houses based on the maximum amount of cat fur they have ever achieved. It updates with each save. You can see your past fur collection records here. And the 60-Minute Collection Leaderboard? The game records data from the first hour after you create each new Meow House and displays it on this historical leaderboard. Here, you can see how fast you collected fur in your past attempts. The game's QQ Group number is 970686200. We chat about cat-petting strategies in the group and also hold various team-building events periodically. We look forward to you joining us! Alright, that's pretty much everything I wanted to tell you. Every cat is adorable, and everyone has their own goals. I just hope you have fun! Let's work hard together~ Ah, one more thing! I heard that when you reach the maximum level for all rooms for the first time and fulfill some hidden conditions, there might be a surprise! They say treating us to dried fish might also do something... I wonder if that's true?

Unlimited autumn punishment (Windows)

Hotkey Descriptions Main Interface (where you can see the cabin level): Q: View resources and resource production rate. W: View building durability. E: Restore player health and stamina. Space: Chop trees. F1: Player interface. F2: Manual save. F3: Lottery. Orchard Interface: Number Keys 1-0: Ripen the apple tree in positions 1 to 10. Combat Interface (turn-based combat): Space: View enemy and ally HP. J: Attack. The game auto-saves every minute. Feel free to peacefully idle away. The following is rambling: I know you folks love idling, itching to idle all day even in real-time combat games. So here's another idle game. Why "another"? Because there's already one called "Endless Winter". Now we have Autumn. Whether Spring and Summer come later is TBD. Since they're all idle games anyway, let me play a few more so I can copy to my heart's content. Author: Akagyo Senshi Shimoon Sama (Red Ponytail Warrior Purple Moon Sama)

Empire Lord (Windows)

This game is developed by: Ziye & Little Drummer. Below are the game's hotkeys: Up Arrow: Browse items upward Down Arrow: Browse items downward Esc: Return/Go back Home: Jump to the beginning of the line End: Jump to the end of the line Page Up: Jump up by 10 items Page Down: Jump down by 10 items Ctrl + F12: Adjust voice library Here is a brief introduction: First, the current content of this game is relatively limited, and the gameplay is quite simple. To put it plainly, it's about gathering resources, upgrading buildings, and recruiting residents. The only challenge might lie in the hunger level. When the hunger level reaches "Poor," residents in the territory will die at a certain rate. So, please pay attention to your food supply. In the settings menu, there is an auto-save toggle. It is turned off by default. If needed, you can enable it so you won't have to save manually. Each resource has a storage cap. Therefore, if you notice that a resource stops increasing, check the maximum capacity of the corresponding building. Lastly, the game's sound effects and music are particularly rudimentary. If you have suggestions in this regard, you are welcome to provide audio materials to me. I will consider adding or modifying the sound effects and music as appropriate. Of course, if you have suggestions regarding gameplay or optimizations, you are also encouraged to join our group or privately message me to discuss. Plaicin: Stories with Infinite Playability (Web)

Description by tjkim1121

Hi All, It’s been ages since I last posted here, so I hope I’m putting this in the right place. I wanted to share a game I stumbled across while scrolling through Facebook. I’m not the developer—just a fan—but I'll try to answer any questions if you have them. The game is currently in beta and completely free to play for the time being. It’s called Plaicin, and you can check it out at https://www.plaicin.com The developers describe it as “infinitely playable stories.” You start by creating a world—basically, a premise—and the AI builds out the characters, locations, objects, and main story, using the Save the Cat outline format. At the start of the story, you choose which character you want to play. The game is a cross between an audiobook and a visual novel with the text displayed on-screen with audio narrations and voiced characters, unless you disable this. The voices are assigned by the AI but these can be changed and it looks like they’re using OpenAI and ElevenLabs default voices. You can let the story play on auto, with the AI pausing at key decision points, or you can jump in anytime using the Interact with this Story button and type whatever dialogue or action you want your character to take. The website itself is accessible—buttons are clearly labeled—and you can also explore worlds created by other players, or remix them to create your own spin. There’s a multiplayer mode, too, so you and your friends can each take on a character. Worlds are tagged as Everyone, Teen, or Mature, and the possibilities are extensive. The iOS app wasn’t super accessible when I tried it. I wasn't reliably able to get the ability to choose the world I wanted to play or even use the app, and screen recognition didn't allow me to activate anything despite me being able to find it. The devs said they’re working on it and thankfully don't mandate that we use their apps. I haven’t tested the Android version. I’ve been playing directly on the website, which works well on both desktop and mobile browsers. If you want to tweak a world or character voices, your best bet is to use the “edit” feature and chat with the AI Creative Team—you just need to chat with it and tell it what you want changed. They also just added a manual editing option, which I’ve been able to use with JAWS, by pressing enter on unlabeled graphics. Hopefully that gets smoothed out in future updates. Anyway, just thought I’d share the find for anyone who’s into interactive fiction and similar styles of storytelling games. Hope some of you enjoy it!

"New Smoldering cards get stronger each turn they are in your hand, but hold onto them for too long and they’ll flame out! Plan your turns out to maximize your value—just don’t get too greedy, or you might get burned." The patch also featured battlegrounds balance changes, with further ones being introduced in patch 32.2.4.

The game itself has also received a number of new features including persistent upgrades, a new stat and leveling system for the Animons, a collection screen as well as a lot of new content.

Other News

Forza is no longer the only racing game with blind driving assist audio queues, as Electronic Arts just published the list of accessibility features in F1 25. The game includes a suite of audio queues, whose volume and pitch can be customized, that should allow a blind person to successfully drive the car. These include engine sound panning to indicate the racing line, turn indicators, track limits, breaking and gear shift announcements. The biggest barrier to entry is a lack of menu narration, so if you are interested in the game you will need a way to OCR the screen before menu guides are written. The developers are seeking feedback to improve these systems and the community is actively testing the limits of F1 25's accessibility, so for the most up-to-date information Check out this thread on our forum.
