Cosmo t-girl, the latest creation from TRANSplants Zine, is available now
The official release party for Cosmo t-girl is Friday May 22nd at 6:30 pm at Pratt Fine Arts 2D studio
I’ve had a couple stories accepted but they aren’t out yet
1. Cosmo t-girl
The latest TRANSplants Zine is out in the world. I’m so proud of it! This started as a joke, but a group of us couldn’t let the idea go. We wrote articles and quizzes, took photos, made art, and our designer brought it all together into an actual magazine. I really enjoyed the creative process as well as the larger Mega Zine format. I’m excited for it to officially release Friday! Get a copy while supplies last; I’ve put in a second order to our printer, but between online sales and upcoming zine fairs, I expect it will sell out soon.

If you don’t want to pay for shipping and are near Seattle, you can pick up a copy at the release party this Friday, or at these local stores: Elliot Bay Books, Left Bank Books, Third Place Books Ravenna, or Haunted Burrow Books.

3. Writing Updates
I’ve had two short stories recently accepted. One will be in the next Lilac Peril Anthology (pre-order it here) and the other will be forthcoming online from Smoke & Mold.
These stories represent the two types of writing I keep switching back and forth between: the Lilac piece is called The Woman in the Pink Workout Shorts, and follows a cis woman’s obsession with a minor trans beauty influencer. I use it to explore the way trans identity is flattened for consumption, the destructive nature of this consumption, and the perpetuation of transmisogyny.
My other story, Experiments in Restoration Failure, is speculative fiction that follows a man deployed on a mission to clean the environment by a militarized conservation corps. While isolated, he discovers that everything he believes is not as it seems, and struggles between two choices. This story returns to my preoccupation with societal forces on individuals and the way these unseen forces shape and limit someone’s available desires and decisions.
These might be the last short stories that release for some time, as I am finishing a collection of short stories while taking a break from writing my novel. I will soon be looking for a publisher for that collection, but even if one is interested, it will be some time before it is published. I’ll keep you updated though!
