Welcome! May 2026

Having a first go at this! If you are reading this thank you for the support on this artist journey of mine <3

This year has certainly marked a new chapter for me and it’s so exciting to have frequent outlets to share my music & records while seeing my friends thrive in the same step. Looking at the current makeup of this mailing list I can confidently say each and everyone of y’all has been a positive force in this time; I hope you feel the love flowing back in your direction.

I’ve been thinking about alternative forms of getting my word out and the longform format has always felt natural to me. Planning for monthly-ish transmissions with upcoming happenings & maybe some thoughts to pair. Hopefully this also lets you stay along for the ride without pressure to constantly consume.

This month month of May

Let’s get into it! I’ll be embracing the warmth & one of my favorite times of year; staying busy with 2 very different gigs & keeping up with my 8Ballradio show.

5/21 - ASS ACTION LAWSUIT @ Bossa Nova Civic Club

truly amazing flyer by Kailyn Dibianco

Honored to be a part of this iconic flyer & litigation team! The 8BallCommunity crew will be taking over the inimitable Bossa Nova Civic Club with artist fees going towards supporting the org. 8Ball is 15 year strong volunteer run arts org & third space doing radio, zine fairs, community organizing and a long tail of anarchisms. I’ve been doing my radio show Basal Rate there for nearly 4 years and will be going b2b with the homie o.negative who has been there for about the same amount. The humid taste of memorial day weekend will be in the air and it’ll be my first time playing there in the Official Evening Hours. We’re closing the place down so I’ll be packing my most fun & freaky records. Put in your day off notice for that Friday now xD

Full details here. $10 after 11 & free beforehand

5/31 - Eavesdrop

If you know me you know I love Danley speakers

I’ll then be rounding out the month with a 4 hour brunch slot at Eavesdrop in Greenpoint. It’ll be my first time playing there and I’m excited to play records on a bright yellow Danley system; packing housey & sunny tunes for the occasion. The food & drinks are super good here and I’ve been a many times purely for that reason; would love to see some familiar faces so I hope you can join! Trust that the frequencies will be coming correct.

You can make reservations here starting on 5/17 - booth or hightop seating will be in the back area picture above.

Basal Rate on 8 Ball Radio

I’ve been keeping up with my show Basal Rate on the community run 8ballradio.nyc since September of 2022; broadcasting every other Thursday evening from Chinatown and hitting episode 90 this month! Looking back I’m really proud of the archive that has been created & the artists who have been a part.

5/7 - Episode 89 with o.negative

flyer from 2 diff photos on my commute home

Welcoming fellow 8Baller Oscar aka o.negative to Basal Rate for its 89th version on Thursday the 7th. We’ve both been active with 8Ball for about 4 years now & he is among the few DJs that consistently leave me flabbergasted, no exaggeration. This newsletter took longer than expected to write (classic) so the archival upload is already live. It should be a nice preview of what we might play at Bossa on the 21st.

5/21 - Episode 90 with Nate T

For the second episode of May I’ll be welcoming Nate T who will be in town visiting from Chicago. He co-runs the Antic event & mix series championing on a minimal, vinyl only sound. The mixes have all been class & the parties look sick from afar; very excited to be finding that out first hand next month :)

Listen to the live broadcast here. I’ll be on from 6-7pm & Nate takes over 7-8pm. Archive will be uploaded here; and we’ll be seeing you at Bossa afterwards!

Recent Mixes

Shouting out the recent episode 88 of Basal Rate where I played entirely my own tracks & edits! Mixing is chaotic at times but its a good peak into many, many project files from the last 4 years or so.

Recent Rotations

antic.006 Tony G

Eclectic and fun vinyl selects from Tony G out of Chicago for the latest installment in the aforementioned Antic series! On repeat this week.

Dreams in Sepia by Sam McQueen

Staying with the Chicago theme is this wonderful record from Sam McQueen. Stumbled upon this record at Ergot records a few months ago after the cover art by Kilian Eng really caught my eye. I’ve found myself coming back to it and really love how the album progresses from beatless ambient to softer shades of spacey techno.

Thank you for reading if you made it all this way! May the sound carry you forward.
