[Oct 23] Saka scan, Club World Cup place, Gyokeres valued at £55m, and more

The Bottom Line

Men: Saka was due to have a scan on the quad injury that took him off after 10 minutes in Munich, and he is a major doubt to face Everton on Saturday, with Tzolis also short of fitness. The 2-2 draw extended Arsenal's unbeaten away run in the Champions League to nine games, a club record.

Women: Arsenal are one of the first seven clubs confirmed for the inaugural Women's Club World Cup, a 19-team tournament in the United States in January 2028. Tickets are on sale for the Champions League game against Benfica at Meadow Park.

Men

Saka has a scan on his quad and is a major doubt for Everton

Saka was due to have a scan on Thursday after coming off with a sharp pain in his left quad in Munich. He left the Allianz Arena limping but without crutches, and Arteta is expected to give an update on Friday.

Guimaraes on settling at Arsenal after a difficult Newcastle exit

Guimaraes said there were a lot of tears when he left St James' Park and that the summer brought sleepless nights. He called Rice an unbelievable player and said Arteta is still working out the best balance between them.

Nine away games unbeaten in Europe is a club record

The 2-2 draw in Munich made it nine Champions League away games without defeat, six won and three drawn, beating the seven Arsenal managed across 2005/06 and 2006/07. Bayern ended a 15-game league phase winning run.

Everton at home is not on live television in the UK

Saturday's 3pm Premier League game at Emirates Stadium has no live UK broadcaster. Arsenal.com and the club app carry a pre-match show and commentary from Dan Roebuck and Adrian Clarke.

Arsenal reported to have set a £55m price on Gyokeres

ESPN, citing Football Insider, reports Arsenal would want £55m to sell Gyokeres in the next year, the same as the initial fee paid to Sporting last summer. Clubs in Italy, Spain and England are said to be following the situation.

Bournemouth will not sell Eli Junior Kroupi in January

BBC Sport reports Bournemouth are not willing to entertain January offers for the striker, a summer target for Arsenal. Kroupi is back in full training after surgery on a fractured metatarsal in July and could face Manchester United on Sunday.

Arsenal reported to be tracking Monza striker Gustavo Varela

ESPN, citing Mundo Deportivo, reports Arsenal are among the clubs following the 21-year-old, who has scored eight goals in seven games for Monza. Napoli and his former club Benfica are said to be watching him too.

Women

Arsenal confirmed for the first Women's Club World Cup

FIFA has named Arsenal among the first seven clubs for the 19-team tournament, which runs from 5 to 30 January 2028 in the United States. Twelve more clubs, six of them European, are still to be decided.

Tickets on sale for Arsenal Women against Benfica

The Women's Champions League game is an 8pm kick-off at Meadow Park in Borehamwood. Arsenal have four points from two games, while Benfica are tenth, having beaten Juventus and lost to Bayern Munich.
