Automating welcome emails for my side projects

Hackletter

I’ve been a bit sick over the last week and I needed something to play with.

I came across n8n, an automation tool like Zapier, which was fun. First I created a workflow (or an automation) that runs every morning and sends me a message on Telegram telling how many views I got on my website.

Played a bit with @n8n_io to make it send me a telegram notification of my website analytics everyday

I can say the message puts a smile on my face every morning.

Now, I can use this to solve a problem I’ve been facing.

I had an Automation setup in Splitbee, which is an analytics tool I’ve been using for my side project. That automation is supposed to send an email to whoever signs up asking them if everything is fine or did they face any issues.

This email has spun some interesting conversation with people and I’ve made a few friends. 🍻

The automation wasn’t working consistently. I needed a better way.

So I solved this with n8n. 🤷‍♂️

I tweeted about it and few people were interested. So I made a YouTube video walkthrough of how it works.

The running cost of all this is $0. It’s pretty cool.

Okay, that’s all for this week.
