Sunset Solitaire coming out in June!
Hello there,
I’m back with another update from the frontlines of lofi indie game development!
Let’s talk a little about picoSYNTH first! The Steam launch last week went well over expectations. The program was first released in itch almost two years ago so goo to see that the mix of bleepy bloops and satisfying cable physics still works wonders and attracts lot of people. Big thank you to everyone who helped spread the word and leaving positive reviews - it really helps and also warms my heart. ☺️ The discord has had a nice influx of people sharing their creations if you want to hear more.
But let’s move on to new things! My next game Sunset Solitaire is coming out already in early June! It is a very chill card game with many game types and various difficulty. On top of the actual card games there is also a scoring mechanism that is used to unlock different card backs. It is working really well and adds that thrilling just-one-more-game feeling.
The game also features very chill music from Brent Houston who has been making music for most of my games. If you’re as keen on the game as I am, don’t hesitate to wishlist it on Steam! If you also tell a friend about the game you get an extra gold star! ⭐️
Speaking of chill, next week I’m going to hold a game developing workshop at the festival Electromagnetic Field in the UK. Best described as a 3000 people strong tent festival with talks and workshops about varying topics around the clock. If you’re at the event, please come and say hi! I’m also exhibiting a bunch of my pico8 games in the arcade tent:
If you’re on YouTube, feel free to follow my channel there for trailers and other goodies!
Last but not least! There’s a sale on all my games and tools on itch right now if you want to save a buck or two. 20% off everything for a few days more.
All the best,
Johan
