Massive sale + picoCAD 2 sneak peek
Hello there,
it is newsletter time! Did you know that Apskeppet is Swedish for "monkey ship"? Let's see what's been happening on the open seas lately.
💐 Summer Sale
First off, we have a massive sale going on both on Steam and itch.io. It is our biggest discount yet, so it is a great chance to pick up a game or two!
📈 Milestone celebrations

Second, let’s celebrate some pretty big milestones this week. This very newsletter is now reaching over 3000 subscribers. Mindblowing! Don't hesitate to reply and let me know what you want to hear more about. Or forward it to a friend - the more the merrier!
picoCAD 2 amassed over 3000 wishlists on Steam! I’m very humbled by this number as apart from the original announcement post I haven't done any marketing so it is all organic. Going to start marketing after the summer and hope to release this year!
Last bit of celebration is for our TikTok that hit 1500 followers! Clearly there is a lot of interest in lofi games and art!
👀 picoCAD 2 sneak peek
The follow up to the very tiny but ever popular picoCAD is in nearing the end of development. The sequel includes everything from a built in texture editor to layering and shading control. Testers are finding the last few bugs right now, but I wanted to show you an early preview of a new feature that even they haven’t seen. The animation tool!

If you haven’t already, wishlist picoCAD 2 right here!
In short, you’ll be able to assign different behaviours to parts of your model and then in a very easy way get the model to move in interesting ways. I have some really high hopes for this feature and hope to squeeze it in before the release.
🤫 Secret project
I've been talking about the secret project for a long time now and the original plan was to announce it earlier this year, but some things just take longer time. The trailer is 95% complete and we’re currently working with a really great artist to do the key art. Once that is done we will finally reveal the whole thing! I think it is going to make a lot of players very happy - stay tuned!
⚔️ Roguelikes
Last but not least I started thinking about roguelikes again. It usually happens once a year or so and I end up spending hours reading random pages on the nethack wiki and roguebasin. I've always felt that traditional roguelikes have so much more to give if they were a bit more accessible, and I dream of making one that is just as deep and surprising while still attracting a wider audience. Maybe some day!

If you want to try out some of my earlier attempts, there is both the tactical dungeon crawler Curse of the Lich King, and the more casual deckbuilding ski simulator Alpine Alpaca. Check them out, they are both free to play.
That is all for now, don't forget to check out my sale and have a great summer.
All the best
Johan
