March update - Ascent DX, Coco’s Future & more!
Hello everyone!
An extra warm welcome to all the new subscribers coming in from my now discontinued Patreon. Hope you feel just as at home here. The cold winter clouds have finally parted here in Sweden and the sun is back - let’s see what is going on right now!
Ascent DX
The game is tested and apart from a few small text changes and some additional music it is ready to be released. I want to do a bit of more marketing though but I think it will be out this month.

Brent (who wrote the original music) has made two additional tracks that really add to both the game’s pacing as well as the atmosphere. Can’t wait to get it out and into your hands. ☺️
Coco’s Delivery Service
End of last year I talked to a few publishers about the game and while I didn't end up with a deal, the process made me understand more about how much work it would require to get the game to where I wanted. It probably could have worked with a publisher onboard, but it is not something I want to (or can!) take on by myself.

Hence Coco’s Delivery Service is on pause for now. I’ve learned a lot from talking to publishers, and who knows - maybe one day it’ll return in some form! Thanks to everyone who showed interest.
Indie life
I’m coming to Guadalindie in May to talk about picoCAD. It looks a like a really chill conference/meet up with lots of interesting content. Also a great opportunity to escape cold Sweden and enjoy some Spanish sun!
🎨 Our next speaker is a master of pixel art & low-poly ✨ Johan Peitz ✨ @johanpeitz.com A veteran of the games industry. Johan created the cult classic Icy Tower, picoCAD (the low-poly modeler), and now crafts small games with big pixels at Apskeppet. Don't miss him at #Guadalindie25

Secret Project
We’ve had some legal stuff to sort in order to get going with my secret project but it looks like all that is all fixed now. With that off my shoulders I’m really enjoying working on the game. We’re currently getting all the content in place to make a reveal trailer. As an example, we’re going to record some live music this weekend for the title music. Can’t wait to share it.
Last but not least
As I know there are many devs following this newsletter, I wanted to highlight this list of self hosted services that I was recommended when I was looking for something more useful than Google Analytics for my websites. Haven’t had time to fully go through it, but the few checks I made was very promising!
In closing…
What indie games have you all been playing lately? I’ve been heads down in my own code and I’d love to hear your recommendations!
All the best,
Johan
