Welcome to the first roundup of 2026! (And, of course, to 2026 itself.)

As you will find below the fold, I did a lot of writing in December. This was mostly backpressure: I lagged in November because I told myself I wouldn't publish anything until I had finished the new site, and here the new site is, and so I'm back to writing.

I like to pepper these roundups with a bit of contemporary flavor: how work's going; what's on my mind; what's new with Lucy; et cetera. In lieu of that, I direct you this month to the annual review I wrote a few days ago.
