A short one this week, I'm afraid.
Storing up some mental bandwidth as I have a few editorial projects to attend to next week, the news is horrid (again) and then there's the small matter of an election on Thursday.

As you know, Beautiful Canvas #1 is out this month (June 28th) from Black Mask Studios. If you've already pre-ordered why not do the same for
Issue #3? Get the set. You'll thank me later.
The last few weeks I've been plotting out some back matter for the issues with Ryan. I've enjoyed helping to put them together. It's always great to chat pop culture with Ryan. I usually discover a whole new way of looking at things when I'm done.

A quick shout out to
John Owens. Comic Writer Services is a
website I put together a while ago. It's essentially a resource collecting a *ton* of helpful links to help aspiring comic book writers, the kind of resource I wished I'd had when starting out.
Not too long ago I decided to make the data behind the website open source, uploading it to GitHub in the process. Since then, John (of his own volition) has tinkered with the data and built a pretty nifty setup that will allow people to search the website by a creator. I hope to implement that in the next few weeks when I get a spare moment and incorporate John's code into the main branch on GitHub.
This is why open source is awesome.

Pencils are done on
Disconnect, a psychological thriller about war, trauma and drone warfare. Gav Heryng is now hard at work on the inks.
I'm very pleased with the results so far.
Disconnect has lived inside my head for a long time so it's gratifying to see it so vividly brought to the page by Gav.

There's also art coming in from a short story I'm doing with Alfie Gallagher. This is part of a wider anthology project that I'm also helping to edit. More on that when I'm allowed to spill.
Until then...
