First proper day of sunshine of the year and I am burnt all over. This is my curse.

Let us run down some projects, shall we?
- Beautiful Canvas #1, of course, hits stores on June 28th. I recently received my comp copies in the mail and both covers (Sami Kivela’s and Christian Ward’s) look fantastic. The creative team should be proud. Their hard work definitely paid off. I can’t wait for it to hit and to see everyone’s reaction to that first issue. You’re in for a treat! Head to the BC Tumblr to keep yourself in the loop!
Sidebar: It was cool to see Ryan, Owen Gieni, Ryan Ferrier and Daniel Chabon pick up a Ledger Award for Negative Space over the weekend!

Metropo (a cyberpunk anthology I edited) continues to come on in leaps and bounds and is around 70% done. As mentioned before, this project allowed me to level up certain aspects of my editor skill tree, especially in terms of project management and the admin/production side of things. Content and presentation wise it’s turning out to be something special. Again, there’s a Tumblr to keep yourself updated as to the project’s status as well as some interesting links related to cyberpunk, transhumanism, and technology. Give it a look!

The other anthology I’m editing, which still hasn’t been announced, is also continuing its development. My own story in it, with art by the awesome Alfie Gallagher, is heading to the lettering stage as we speak and we’re currently in the phase of matching up artists with the writers and stories we have. More as I get it.
As you probably know there was a general election last week here in the UK. Like most political polls these days it did not go as planned for the status quo. My own nausea and general anxiety about the election manifested itself in me writing several thousand words on the recent Moon Knight run by Jeff Lemire, Greg Smallwood and Jordie Bellaire.
I’ve spent the week chopping it down and splitting it into three words. You can find the first part here and the second part went up today. The third part will be up tomorrow evening.
Comics analysis is something I’ve written a lot of in the past but is still something I enjoy and should probably do more of.

A short one, but how about some links to send us out?

I had an idea that it might be an idea to do a bit of comics analysis here in the newsletter. If you have any requests or suggestions of what I could take a look at then hit reply and send them my way!
Until then...
