The London punk newsletter — November 2025 listings out now

Another Subculture

Our dining table this month: November's listings, posters for the Blue Zero gig in December, postage supplies and a few books I've been reading...

Hello, paper punks. Another Subculture’s issue for November is out now and making its away around town this Halloween weekend.

Yes, I am getting back in the swing of things and yes, there is a particularly entertaining technical error this time around. Hey, at least there’s a spot to write in the days…

You can download the front page as a PDF on the website, and you can find a copy in the usual places too. As always, the first thing I do when getting the paper is mail out copies to subscribers, because they are excellent people who need to fill their noticeboards and compost bins. Join them for £3 a month by signing up here. And of course, thank PageMasters for reminding me that I could do two colours on both sides.

I found this guide on the tube and used it for the back page.

Photos this month are by yours truly - I did two gigs in one day for the first time in a while, and for good reason: Gob Nation had their all-dayer at the Dome in Tufnell Park, and Traidora were celebrating their new album with metallic Chaos at New River; a quick trip across Holloway and it’s like I was 26 again. Here, watch a couple clips from the charity shop camera from each one…

There are a few Another Subculture related things knocking about this month too - including the nearest you’ll get from me to a big gig:

  • On Thursday 4th December, Another Subculture & Repetitive Strain presents Blue Zero, Moist Crevice and Crude Image at the Ivy House, London’s cask ballroom of dreams. 🔵0️⃣ are Oakland’s premier rockin’ shoegazers, a project of Chris Navitidad who you may know from Marbled Eye; 💦🕳️ are one of my favourite bands in ages to come from the capital and 🥴🖼️ is a new Hardcore Punk project from Lindsay of Monotony. Tickets on sale now, £12+bf, get them on WeGotTickets.

  • Before that, Repetitive Strain (me and Vanity Crystal) are playing palatable nonsense at Multi Story Peckham on Thursday 20th November. You may remember it as Peckham Levels, except a legend has taken over operations and IKLECTIK is there now! Free entry, 8pm-12am, pints from £4, come have a dance.

  • I wrote about The Paper Round for The Fence’s Capital Letter newsletter. Basically, just go to BOOKS.

  • And if you are actually in or visiting Manchester, I’m excited to be contributing to Information Lives in DIY Culture, a conference from MMU’s Media & Digital Culture group, on Saturday 15th November. I just plan to explain why on earth I’m doing this when DICE exists.

There we go. This month I’m going to see The Yummy Fur and Still House Plants, there will be continued rumination on 1976+50 and maybe I’ll mute that party on Bluesky for a bit? Oh, and it’s not a Turnstile diss at the top, more of a ‘yes, and’.

Take care everyone, free Ola + free Palestine, Get to the Gig / B P of A S
