2026-02-03

Hello, punk paper people. Another Subculture’s issue for February 2026 is out now.
Subscribers’ copies are in the post, paper copies are finding their way across the usual favourite spots (and Camden) this week and of course, you can download the calendar from the website too. I heard someone has been printing them and putting them up in libraries, which is incredible? Over 50 gigs, club nights, film screenings etc as the evenings expand, good heavens.
On the cover, in PageMasters’ finest Bubblegum: SKINTERN, noise/punk seemingly designed to evoke sensation (‘homosexual Brainbombs’, potentially obscene visuals, ‘did you get the blood in the photo?’) Saw them play with BRAK (photographed on the back) and they are the coolest local band I’ve seen so far in ‘26. Cybershot mashed through KID PIX II running through Infinite Mac, it’s something I’m trying.
For March I have a couple interviews brewing, and as ever if you are a friend of the paper and want to write or draw or photograph something for a future issue, I am all ears: hello@anothersubculture.co.uk is the address.
For your eyes and ears:
Becuase I’m aware of the slight delay in delivery this month, I want to point out to all south-east London heads that Sister Midnight are holding a public meeting regarding their construction plans (the venue is finally being assembled!)… go to the Catford House club on Wednesday 4th February at 19:30 and see what’s in store.
Brixton Library is holding its annual LGBTQ+ Zine Fair towards the end of the month, and yes all your faves are there. Saturday 21st, 12-4:30pm, all welcome.
I used a bingo machine to determine the winner of the Tome Records gift voucher… congrats Ro, your token is in the post!
There we go. Next issue before you know it, give me your gigs before the 20th to ensure publication!
Take care + free Ola + free Palestine + we will win ! ? / B P + A S
