NOVEMBER listings out now - OUTSIDER ART and TEN YEARS GIGS coming up soon
Hello, paper punks. It has been a month on the micro and the macro - but as ever, there will be gigs: November's listings are online, in the post for Patreons and appearing in the usual record shops, venues, and gigs across London post-haste.
One thing about this month's issue is that I have included information about already announced protests for Palestine and an immediate ceasefire; Another Subculture supports the work of the Palestine Solidarity Campaign and other organisations working to get people on the streets, writing to MPs and keeping up the pressure to demand an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, and I have included information about announced marches/actions in the grid this month; where more events and directions to take action appear, they will be shared in the usual places.
There are, as you can expect, plenty of gigs and nights that are raising money for aid and towards medical organisations such as Medical Aid for Palestine, MSF and The Red Cross/Crescent and I have pointed out these where if you want to get your event promoted by AS then of course send it through via the website.
Overall in November, there are 60+ gigs and events which is possibly a record, and there are a couple things I'm doing that I'd like to draw your attention to:
Another Subculture will be tabling at the Outsider Arts Festival at the Old Spotted Dog (Clapton CFC's famous clubhouse) on Saturday 11th November; I'll bring basically the last copies of everything I have as a clearout before Alternative Strategies #4 which is delayed but happening. Stay for short films and a good old after party afterwards; it will be free until 4:30pm, closest station is Forest Gate (Elizabeth Line) and importantly, the drinks are excellent value. I quite like gigs in football clubhouses, long may they continue...
...and of course, three weeks until Another Subculture is 10, the weekend of Top Music at Spanners and The Ivy House in south London on Friday 24th & Saturday 25th November. Tickets are still available including half price if you're unwaged or on Universal Credit; it will be a couple quid more on the door so snap them up:

(The line-up has been tweaked since the last newsletter, by the way: alas no Churchgoers but welcome Moist Crevice to Friday's line-up which guarantees noize not music for all!)
And that is all for this month - more paper in December, hopefully stapled too. Get to the gig - - B P / A S
