March punk gig listings + Matchstick Piehouse + Hillsy's Video Zine
Hello, paper punks.
Realised I hadn't sent an update about this month's listings yet, but it's been a silly couple of weeks - moved from one end of Lewisham to another and there is now somewhere you could call an HQ (👀) to spend an evening putting paper in envelopes without taking over the bedroom, so we are truly back on track.
The March issue has as least been on fridges, handed to Framtid survivors and posted to Patreons far and wide already, so if you haven't gotten your hands on the teal page and read the behind the scenes chat with two of the Damage is Done collective, then go to TOME, Waste!, BOOKS and the usual places in between.
Something new:
I've just given the listings an update online - the short month meant that there were like four great events that got announced mere minutes after I had sent the March issue off to press, so up they go! (Example: 11PM Records' showcase on the 29th and what appears to be the first of a number of staff do's at the Shacklewell Arms tomorrow night?) Of course, to get in print you should submit as soon as you can - to get on the April page you've got until March 24th to guarantee inclusion! Same goes for putting an advert on the back, too (£25 for an image, a pound for a classified; get in touch!)
Something old:
I'm putting previous issues' interviews online after the paper's run out, because why not! Please click through and enjoy my interviews with Liv Wynter and B. Hills below. Matchstick's fundraiser is coming up this weekend as well, so you'd be silly not to go to the Fox and Firkin. No idea who "PDA" are, but then if I could spend weeks looking at "Visibly High" and not get High/Vis, then I'm hopeless here...

Something else?
There's a growing number of listings sites and gig guides for London, and I couldn't be happier. DIY Listings London continues to be a fine online companion to Another Subculture, so keep them in mind for punk and indie gigs from now until Halloween, and most recently a new online newsletter named the London Sound Index has launched with a wider genre remit and a determination to cover as much non-commercial live music in the capital as possible; can't wait to get this in my inbox!
(I should make a links page. Webring, anyone?)
That'll do for now. Looking forward to Spring and getting the next page together, and as ever I hope you're staying safe and having fun. This city is being squeezed as ever but there's loads to keep us going.
