June 2024 punk listings out now - Lambeth Mutual Aid - subscriptions open again!
Hello, paper punks. A quick update this month - June 2024's listings are in the post, out and about and online for you to download. 75+ events this time, plenty of benefits and the final chance to get to a Static Shock Gig abound (thanks for sending people my way Ellis, now get some rest!). Tried something slightly different and harked back to the work printer mode with the Letraset, there's photos from a nice gig at Lewisham Arthouse I went to in May (with Fluid Tower & Lobby), plus there's some good chats with Dead Name and Marcel Wave on the back, both being bands I'm excited to see this month!
Subscribe: in one go or through Patreon
A heads up that as it's June I'm once again opening up a one-payment-for-12-issues subscription option on top of the Patreon; works out about £2.20 a month which keeps me in stamps for the time being, and I'm making Letraset cards for everyone who subscribes too. Is that an incentive, well can you resist Glaser Stencil, the tidier (and precursor) to Crass_Font.ttf? We shall see. All on the website if you'd prefer that method of getting the paper; it will always be free at the usual places, and I’m not closing the Patreon neither if a few quid a month works for you too.
Online now: Hands across the borough
Finally, a big up to Lambeth Mutual Aid who gave us an interview for the May issue, which you can now read here. They want to keep giving out solidarity funds, no questions asked, and provide a shining example of community action in south London today. (They are also putting on more benefit gigs! Next one in a few months, with all the information in AS of course.) Give them a few quid to help people who need it!
Take care - enjoy the beginnings of summer, drizzle be damned; keep an eye on what Palestinian protests and actions are in your area (the next National March is a week today), and do your best to let the election just glide above your head if you are that way inclined. (You probably live in London, you know it’s a foregone conclusion…) The Morning Star 1997 snap on the front cover this month is very much me wondering about who's going to assume everything is Fine when Keith becomes prime minister, and who will understand that everything will remain Fucked and a lot is still worth fighting for. Again, assuming you’re on the latter here. What Led By Donkeys will do with their time, though, is anyone's guess...
Cheers, get to the gig / B P / A S
