January listings OUT NOW, 2022 is DEAD, YEAR OF PAPER
Hello, paper punks. Happy New Year if you're reading this after a Saturday night to forget the general state of the past twelve months - I keep saying that in the micro, it's been a good 2022 even if the macro has been ever more concerning, upsetting and tedious.
If you're reading this and it's still New Year's Eve and you need somewhere to go: I'd recommend the Ivy House in Nunhead, Soft Landing at the Avalon Cafe, Marquis of Granby in New Cross, Rhythm Section's night at Corsica Studios, Biddle's Bar up in Clapton (Alec from Skitter's DJing), Venom & Leather at Helgi's and having a nice good sleep if all else fails.
First things first: if you go to anothersubculture.co.uk you can download the PDF listings for January 2023 - all details correct as of 2022, and I can surely see me updating this as we go so if there are many changes I'll email again.
And of course I couldn't end the year without a big thank you to everyone who's picked up listings or a copy of Alternative Strategies in 2022. With the help, wisdom, words and pictures of many mates we've put together some great paper - and I've got some plans for next year too, the 10th anniversary of Another Subculture (remember the tapes?) - really want to cover how punk continues to morph and recover from this decade's mess.
If you want a post copy of the calendar zine every month, then get on the Patreon for £2/month, and if you haven't gotten a copy of the autumn issue of Alternative Strategies, I've got like 13 copies left so quick, quick, buy one here.
Enjoy yourselves, let's hear your band in 2023, take care -- BP
