Radiant Star out soon!

An open box of finished copies of Radiant Star

It’s almost time! Radiant Star is officially out on May 12th, and I’m excited for everyone to be able to read it!

If you want to pre-order a signed copy, you should head over to Left Bank Books. There will be an event (reading, Q&A, signing books). I don’t know the exact time or date yet, but if you’re in St Louis, keep an eye on Left Bank’s schedule.

What I’ve Been Reading

What We Are Seeking by Cameron Reed

This is just a really, really good book. Kind of old-school in a good way, it reminded me of some of the things I read in the seventies. Also, if you haven’t read The Fortunate Fall by the same author, well, you should.

Call Me Traitor by Everina Maxwell

Yeah, it’s not out yet, but it will be in December. Did you read Winter’s Orbit? Or Ocean’s Echo? Did you enjoy them? If so you’ll probably enjoy the heck out of Call Me Traitor. I know I did.

Word by Word by Kory Stamper and

True Color by Kory Stamper

These are both books about making dictionaries. They are fabulous and gripping.

I’ve been playing lots of Farm Together 2, which is a very soothing, low-stakes kind of game. Also Balatro, of course. And I’ve started playing Baldur’s Gate 3, mostly with the help of my friend Rachel Swirsky, who actually knows what she’s doing. I certainly don’t. It does help though that the combat is turn-based—I’m no good at the other kind of game combat, honestly. Yes, I am super intrigued by the recent announcement that T. Kingfisher has written a prequel novel about Astarion, and the audiobook will be narrated by Astarion’s voice actor! Looking forward to that.

That’s all the news, really. Take care, and I hope you all enjoy Radiant Star!

Ann
