Nettle Head IRL ~ tomorrow!
Find me tomorrow at Boro Detroit, 12-6. Shop small or not at all ;)
Hello my friends,
A quick note for you on this blustery November afternoon, as the sounds of the Cambridge Singers Christmas Album twinkles through my speakers.
Despite this being the season of the waning moon, my life has been full and bright lately. Isn’t that always the case this time of year? When we want to take cues from our bear brethren and begin hibernation, suddenly the calendar is overflowing?
Some of the items on my personal calendar lately have been: moving houses, turning 31, spending a weekend up north photographing writer and friend Cody Cook-Parrott (pre-order their upcoming book!), and prepping for my first ever (!!!) pop up market, where I’ll be offering a little selection of my small batch apothecary goods.
Although there is more I’d like to say to you all, this last item on the agenda is what I’ve landed in your inbox to share. Come see me at Boro Vintage in Detroit tomorrow (11/29) from 12-6! I will be standing in humble service to the plants, wearing my new sheepskin shawl that my love gifted me for my birthday, excited to greet every face that walks in the door. I will have a selection of tinctures, glycerines, oxymels, and a seasonally spiced yuletide tea blend. I hope to see you there.
Sending you all my fireside love,
Anna

P.s. I’d be remiss not to mention that it is Thanksgiving week here in the US, a holiday with a violent and misrepresented history. As I prepare to offer plant medicine to my community, I will be thinking of the Indigenous people who have always known what it means to exist in right relationship with the Earth, and whose stolen land I currently reside on—to my knowledge, this is the Potawatomi, Anishinabewaki, Mississauga, Fox, and Peoria people. I will also be rereading and reflecting on the Haudenosaunee Thanksgiving Address. I encourage you to take some time this week to learn the stories of those who walked the land before you.
