Pentecost Sunday, also called Whitsunday, is the Sunday in which the church, under the leadership of Thomas Cranmer, Archbishop of Canterbury, released the Book of Common Prayer, first celebrated throughout the British Empire on Whitsunday, June 9, 1549. With this in mind, we will celebrate the day using the traditional liturgy.
