Contemplative Prayer and Compline Tonight | Notes for Advent II

Contemplative Prayer and Compline
This will be a time of guided contemplative prayer, with room for intercessions, and closing with Compline. Compline is a brief, historic office (office coming from 'officium', lit., "duty") of prayer, begun in a monastic context. It was typically the last formal set of prayers of the day (compline being from the Latin completorium, the completion of the waking day.)

We will be having a casual cookie exchange and hot cocoa after Lessons and Carols on December 20. If you want to participate, please bring 2-3 dozen of your favorite Christmas cookies to eat and share. We will have plates and baggies for any cookies you wish to take home.
We would appreciate help on Saturday, December 6 at 10:30 am to get the Christmas decorations out of the attic at church and to set up the tree. The congregation will have the chance to help decorate the tree on Sunday.
We have a new edition of the "Giving Tree". Starting Sunday you can scan and donate gift cards to Compassion or you can write a check to Trinity with your gift choice written on it and a donation will be sent to Compassion under Trinity's account. We plan to continue this gifting opportunity throughout the month of December.
Christmas Eve Holy Communion, Wednesday December 24th @ 6PM.
