Hello,
Another week done and I hope you managed to get a little sunshine in your life this week. Without further ado here's your links.
Thames Town is an English-style village near Shanghai
I've seen a few of these before but nice to be reminded of these Disney-like reproductions. Strange yet wonderful.
Photographs of Chamberlin Powell & Bon designed Beech Street electricity substation
Beautiful sculptural concrete and constructed in advance of the rest of The Barbican. Don't miss Ben's reply showing that they're still
exposed and visible today.
Unboxing a 5G protection device
£283 for one or three for £799?
The makers of 5G bioshields claim to use a “PROPRIETARY HOLOGRAPHIC NANO-LAYER TECHNOLOGY”
Ok then!
Shot analysis: True Romance
I watched this again the other day and got so much more out of it than I thought I would. It's a masterclass in lighting throughout. Beware spoilers I guess but the Sicilian scene is one of the best moments in the film (also beware, a bit brutal).
Non-structures of London

Unlikely simultaneous historical events
Interesting to consider our relationship with, and perception, of time. A few favourites below.
Spain was still a fascist dictatorship when Microsoft was founded.
Two empires [Roman & Ottoman] spanned the entire gap from Jesus to Babe Ruth.
Oxford University was over 300 years old when the Aztec Empire was founded.
Summit
Ski resort infrastructure out of season. Via

The Beastie Boys videos remastered in HD
I will never forget the first time I watched Sabotage. Thanks to
Dave for link.
Cabins to be stuck in
It's nice to dream of idyllic scenes and being away from the modern world for a bit. The one on the French coast is my favourite. Thanks
Robin.
Cities are meant to stop traffic
It seems we're all talking about how our cities could and should change for the better and to consider the individual, not the car.
Cities, in short, should be an end, not a means. Rationally one wants to have traffic stop there, not go through, one wants movement within it to be slow, not fast.
That's all for this week. Have a lovely long weekend and stay safe.
Love as always,
Andy x
