Occasional links - 23.01.2021

Hello,

End of the week shut down in progress. Disconnect from VPN. Close laptop lid. Open beer(s). Heating on. Feet up. Tell the cat I love her (again). Wait for her to sink her murder claws into my arm. Wipe blood off. ....aaand the weekend has started. Lots to do still but gonna take a moment and enjoy a nice evening before ploughing through the to do list to validate my own existence and feel something this week. Seems to be mainly Twitter links this week, but that's where I found all the good stuff this time.

Upset beer hipsters
A brilliant story from Australia of a simple case of simply adjusting labels to fool the fancy beer crowd. Via Jo Burt. This came about after discussing my very cheap open mould frame being re-painted which does look amazing. You've probably seen it on the internet already.

Sea lions larking around in waves
Pure joy, and much needed. Thank you Luke!

Never been seen Science Museum objects
Such a huge collection that it's impossible to show it all. You can be the first person to see it. Better explanation from the original Tweet here.

You're not going to believe what they hide in face masks
The only mask conspiracy I'm willing to engage with.

STARING DIRECTLY INTO THE SUN DURING A SOLAR ECLIPSE
A brilliant thread of all the ridiculous stuff the idiot orange man has done. Thank god he's gone. Doesn't it feel nice.
Since Trump’s almost out of office, I figured this would be a fun time to remind everyone of the weirdest & dumbest sh*t our failed dictator did in the last four years that we totally forgot about

Animals interrupting wildlife photographers
Yeah, really needed this one this week.

A 10-meter diving tower
Turn the sub-titles on.
People who have never been up there before have to choose whether to jump or climb down. The situation in itself highlights a dilemma: to weigh the instinctive fear of taking the step out against the humiliation of having to climb down.
Via Jim.

Chatting with friends on the internet
These always get me. Not sure why. Click on the images and click through... Love the thought of all these people getting wound up by him.

Burnt By The Sun: Uzbekistan’s Spectacular Solar Furnace
Uzbekistan’s spectacular solar furnace, a formerly top-secret facility built in 1981 to melt/test metals for the Soviet space program. Via Irène, who else...

One of the greatest videos in existence
When you're chatting shit to an interviewer but also mid way through a gig.

Bonus Bernie Sanders link
Couldn't not share this. Type in an address and put Bernie into any Google StreetView scene. I've loved all these memes of him this week. Cheered me right up. A proper giggle.

Bonus dog link
There's always room for an extra dog link...

That's all for now, hope you enjoy your weekend.

Love as always,

Andy x
